Celebrating Clare Higgins

We were honored to celebrate Clare Higgins at her retirement party. From her years as Northampton’s mayor to leading Community Action Pioneer Valley, Higgins has always asked, “how can we do better?” — and then set out to make it happen.

As GCB’s Chief Banking Officer, Jackie Charron, said that night, “Community Action helps our neighbors by providing the cornerstones — nourishing food, a warm home, and a caring place where children and young adults can learn and thrive.”

We’re proud to support that mission by making the cornerstone contribution to the Clare Higgins Fund for Community Resilience, which aims to raise $500,000 by March 2026.
